At The Hive, Northlake Childcare offers flexible drop-in childcare services that are perfect for busy families with unpredictable schedules. You only pay for the time your child is in our care, as we prorate to the minute. Whether you need care for just a few hours or for an entire day, we offer an environment that children enjoy while giving parents peace of mind. Our facility caters to children from 6 weeks to 10 years old, and we focus on providing a safe, fun, and engaging experience.

Do kids just free play all day?

It is not free play the entire day. We offer crafts and activities through the day associated with our weekly themes. Every child has the opportunity to participate in these, but will not be forced to participate. We do our learning through play at The Hive!

What if my child is potty training?

If your child is in the process of potty training, please let us know so we can support their progress. Once notified, we will increase the frequency of potty breaks to encourage regular use of the bathroom. Additionally, to make the experience fun and motivating for your child, we’ll provide incentive stickers as a reward for each successful potty visit. Our team is committed to working with you to ensure a positive and consistent potty training experience for your child while they’re in our care. Please bring extra clothes in case your child has a potty accident.

Can my child take a nap?

We provide each child the chance to take a nap if needed. While we can’t guarantee they will fall asleep, we will ensure they have the opportunity to rest, even if the environment isn’t always completely quiet. Nap mats are provided.

What happens if my child is crying?

It is common for a child to cry when leaving a parent. We will give them time to calm and comfort them through the transition into The Hive. If they continue crying or are unable to calm down we will call and let you know.

My baby has a diaper rash, can you apply cream?

If you would like us to use diaper cream for your child, you are welcome to provide it in their diaper bag with their name clearly labeled on the container. As a policy, we do not supply any creams or ointments ourselves, but we are happy to apply the one you provide to ensure your child is comfortable throughout the day. Just make sure to inform our staff so we can keep it stored properly and apply it as needed.

What if I forget my child's cup?

If your child forgets to bring their cup for the day, don’t worry! We have cups with straws readily available to ensure they stay hydrated throughout their time with us. Our goal is to make sure every child is comfortable and has access to a drink, even if their cup is left at home.

Do you provide snacks?

Yes, we offer snacks to the children twice a day to keep them energized and happy. Snacks are served at 9:30 AM in the morning and again at 3:30 PM in the afternoon. We also provide a snack at 8:30 PM on Friday and Saturday evenings. This ensures that the kids have a healthy break and can refuel during their time with us, whether they're engaging in activities or just relaxing. If your child has any specific dietary needs or allergies, please let us know so we can accommodate them appropriately.
